Unfortunately, Rivers managed to escape, and within a few years, the Blackfyres were back, claiming Haegon’s son Daemon was the true King of Westeros. According to various Targaryen timelines around the internet, Daenerys is a distant niece of Princess Rhaenyra. Eve Best plays Princess Rhaenys Targaryen, the daughter of the late Prince Aemon Targaryen, the eldest son of King Jaehaerys. The eldest is named after Aegon the Conquerer but could be considered a slight on Alicent's eldest son, while the younger Viserys is named after Rhaenyra's father and Daemon's brother, King Viserys.
He is a dashing silver-haired knight who ravishes the hearts of all the women in Westeros. First we have Aemon Targaryen, whom we see in the flesh in his very old age, across the first few seasons of Game of Thrones. Having served as a Night’s Watch maester for years, people simply forgot he was even a Targaryen. Alicent and Viserys have four children together, Prince Aegon Targaryen, Princess Helaena Targaryen, Prince Aemond Targaryen and Prince Daeron Targaryen. Several months later, and sure enough, Alicent and the king grow close – at least as friends. When the king is pressured to remarry (and, you know, make a new heir), he announces that he is to marry Alicent, making her the Queen of the realm (until her son Aegon takes over).

Rhaenyra assists her husband Laenor in faking his death and fleeing with his lover, making her a “widow.” She quickly marries Daemon. Aegon had planned to wed his children to the heirs of great lords across the Seven Kingdoms, but Duncan chose to abdicate as Prince of Dragonstone and marry the commoner Jenny of Oldstones. This greatly upset Lyonel Baratheon, whose daughter was to marry Duncan. The Storm Lands briefly rose up against the King, and again, Duncan the Tall was forced to step in and end the threat with his sword. Little is written of this time in the books, but one interesting note is that Aegon’s second son, Aerys, appears to have been made heir over his eldest brother.
The plot details of the second season have predictably been kept under wraps, but what we know for sure is that alongside the Targaryens will be some new houses and members added to the show’s cast. The two sides will rally their allies and summon the armies in the showdown of the century. House the Dragon takes a firm stance in showing the events from one perspective as opposed to different ones in Fire and Blood. This enables them to choose the sequence and events in the narrative that fit more suitably. An exceptional example of such decision-making is seen when Viserys dismisses Otto as the Hand of the King.
